The WHISE Foundation

The WHISE Foundation (TWF) was established in November 2018. WHISE stands for Wisdom Housing In Sustainable Environment. Together with the Venerable Dagpo Rinpochee and the further board of The Dagpo Educational Fund (TDEF), TWF supports the monks of the monastic university Dagpo Shedrup Ling in Kais in North India in realizing safe, healthy and sustainable housing and raising the necessary funds.

Mission

The WHISE Foundation is enthusiastically committed to realizing safe, healthy and sustainable housing for and together with the monks of the Buddhist monastic university Dagpo Shedrup Ling in Kais in the Kullu Valley as well as for the school children and the local residents who use the doctor's office. .

Although in today's world there is a great need for inner peace and happiness, this is not often worked on (methodically). The monks of the monastic university are constantly training their minds to develop love, compassion, wisdom and non-violence according to the ancient Dagpo traditions. The more powerful these qualities are in one's mind, the more his well-being increases as well as his ability to contribute to the well-being of others.

Vision

We are inspired by the goodness of the Venerable Dagpo Lama Rinpochee and want to do everything necessary for a sustainable and ecologically responsible restoration of the monastic buildings. By combining the qualities of people locally and worldwide, we work step by step, in a connecting and imaginative way, on the safety of the monastery.

Formal objective

The WHISE Foundation has two goals:

  1. working for the survival of the traditions of the monastery university Dagpo Shedrub Ling, primarily by realizing and maintaining sustainable and safe housing for the monastery university as well as for all existing and future associated institutes such as the (primary) school and the medical center and a retreat and study center to be built, with due regard for the autonomy of the monastery and with respect for the environment and the living environment;

  2. the expertise obtained in the field of sustainability will, if desired, be made available to those who benefit from it and to perform all that is related to or may be conducive to the foregoing.
